B.Tech in Information technology includes a detailed and thorough study of software and programming of the computer and communication technology. The Information Technology stream is brand new. According to recent NASSCOM estimate, the Indian Information, Communication and Tele-communication (ICT) industry will contribute 7 percent to the country's GDP by 2009, providing direct employment to more than 2.2 million people and indirect employment nearly twice that number.
