Information Technology
B.E. INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
B.Tech in Information technology includes a detailed and thorough study of software and programming of the computer and communication technology. Under the course of B.Tech in Information Technology, one needs to study about the ways to program electronic equipment so that it works according to a given instruction.
The course of B.Tech in Information Technology is basically related to the study which is required in software firms, which develop software for the different corporate houses as per their needs and demands.
In comparison with the Computer Science stream, IT courses are less theoretical, have lower prerequisite requirements, and have a greater focus on current trends and technologies. The Information Technology stream is brand new. A large number of courses have recently been approved for this stream and will be 'rolled out' as students enter this exciting new course area to augment their knowledge and skills.

Career Prospects
According to recent NASSCOM estimate, the Indian Information, Communication and Tele-communication (ICT) industry will contribute 7 percent to the country's GDP by 2009, providing direct employment to more than 2.2 million people and indirect employment nearly twice that number. Even the government has recognized the promising future of this industry and has formed a new IT Ministry which will give a boost to this industry.
The job prospects under the course of B.Tech in Information technologies are huge. There are plenty of software companies in the market like Infosys, TCS, Wipro, CTS, Satyam, Accenture etc, which recruits Information Technology engineers. They are also recruited by many government projects to develop software for the government. This also includes the defense wing of the government.
