Mass Media as a discipline has assumed great significance in the past three decades in keeping with the unprecedented growth of media industry after the IT revolution. Now it is one of the biggest employers of dedicated young manpower. The media industry offers challenging careers to aspiring young students.
To meet the growing requirement of good quality media persons, The School offers the following courses :

The school of Mass Communication has a state of the art studio and other facility for Audio Video production. It has a highly experienced faculty. To supplement their input guest faculty is also invited from Jaipur and Delhi.
The syllabi of our media courses have been designed by a Board of Studies comprising highly respected media academicians and well known media practitioners. Five schoolars have registerd themselves with our media school in the Ph.D. programme to undertake research studies in areas like Community Radio, Public Relations and Development Communication.

Prof. Pradeep K. Mathur was Professor and Head of the Department at the Indian Institute of Mass Communication before joining as Director of the Seedling Institute of Media Studies, Jaipur National University, Jaipur.
Prof. Mathur has worked as a Journalist and Editor and as Media Educator for nearly four decades. His main interest is in the issues related to environment, health, education, backwardness and cultural development.
He is known as an authority on social development journalism. Besides print media, Prof. Mathur has also been engaged in teaching and research relating to electronic media. He has written Commentaries on parliamentary proceedings for All India Radio and Doordarshan. Prof. Mathur has several publications to his credit, including books, edited books, articles on
Mass Communication, Non-Aligned Movement and Gender.
Prof. Mathur has a high order of excellence in both Hindi and English writing.

Prof. Himmat Singh Jadeja has experience of working in Film and Television for more than 30 years. He has produced nearly 150 documentary films in India and abroad. Prof. Jadeja has widely traveled in the country and outside. Prof. Jadeja
has participated in several Film and Television related seminars, workshops and discussions. In 1994, Prof. Jadeja directed a documentary film at the time of India Festival in Germany. In 2007, a film "U-turn at Pushkar" directed by him, won the
National Award.
He is looking after the animation programme at SIMS.
Prof. Himmat Singh Jadeja

Dr. Vijai Mathur has studied at the National School of Drama (NSD), New Delhi, and holds a Ph.D. degree in Theatre. He has directed several stage performances and plays. Before joining Jaipur National University in 2006, Dr. Mathur was Head of the Department of Dramatics, and Dean, Faculty of Fine Arts, at the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur.
Dr. Mathur has been a visiting faculty at several institutions and universities, including the NSD, New Delhi, Punjabi University, Patiala, Punjab University, Chandigarh, and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University, Agra. He has also organized several theatre workshops and seminars. He has also made a telefilm- 'Bhanwar', while teaching at the Jaipur National University.
Dr. Mathur has been honoured with several National Awards for short films and documentaries and for direction of stage plays.
