Project name : LPG Gas Implementation in 4 Stroke Engine

Project Description: An attempt has been made in this project to use alternative fuel in four stroke engine to increase the efficiency. Our fore most aim in selecting this project is to use non conventional fuel against conventional fuel which is becoming scarce and costly now days. For lower speeds LPG suitable for vehicle and gasoline is suitable for the higher speed operations. So, these combinations of fuel supply will be suitable for city traffic conditions. In this project we have installed LPG fuel system to four stroke vehicles, where in we can use both gasoline and LPG.

Major Application Areas:

  • Converting an engine to operate primarily on a cheaper gaseous fuel is economically attractive.
  • Possible to implement in every kind of 2 wheeler engine.
  • In future, it would be only and better option in place of Diesel and petrol engine to reduce the pollution.

About Chemical Engineering Department

Chemical Engineering is not only about chemical reactors and distillation columns but it is beyond that. The food we consume, the cosmetics we wear, the detergent we wash our clothes with are all a result of Engineering of materials and their chemical reactions. Therefore, Chemical Engineering is a wide-ranging branch of Engineering that explores vast applications into novel technologies.
Several areas including fuel combustion, energy transfer and reaction systems have been associated with Chemical Engineering and since it is inevitable to these areas, it has also establishes applications in textiles, microelectronics, medicine & healthcare, biotechnology, pulp & paper products, synthesis of advanced materials, and many other day to day consumer goods. Since the basic sciences like chemistry, physics, mathematics, biology and materials science are the main pillars of Chemical Engineering, it leads to the relevance of the field in the above mentioned areas.

Department of Chemical Engineering at Jaipur National University started in 2004 offering B. Tech in Chemical Engineering. The department is endowed with young, vibrant and dynamic faculty well qualified to impart high quality teaching and research in Chemical Engineering. The research interests of the faculty vary broadly; pollution control, biodiesel, polymer, gas absorption, heat exchanger etc. that may demand a collaborative approach with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Materials Science, Bio-technology, Computing and Electronics. Department of Chemical Engineering organizes its annual technical fest Chem-Urja. The event comprises of oral presentation, model presentation, poster presentation, and wordament.
