School of Computer and Systems Sciences

Currently, the School conducts three important programmes, namely, BCA, MCA and M.Tech.

As the IT and the software industry are fast-growing, all the programmes are designed keeping in view the requirements of the present-day situation. Our programmes aim at the understanding of the basic of computing to enable the students for competition in the current global scene.

The program has both theoretical and applied components. Students are trained in Systems Designing, Application Software Development, Enterprise Resource Planning, Computer Networks, System Administration, Web Designing and Development, Database Administration, Parallel and Vector Processing, Data Mining and Warehousing, etc.

The BCA and the MCA programmes are inclined more towards application development, and thus put more emphasis on the latest programming language and tools with a view to develop better and faster applications.

Infrastructure
The School has a friendly student-machine ratio, having machines with latest specifications. Our infrastructure consists of a high speed fiber optic backbone connected through layer-3 Chasis-based managed switch. Smaller managed switches connect the fiber network to different institutions in the Campus.

Presently, there are 21 laboratories having more than 950 PCs (HP-Compaq, IBM, Wipro, HCL, etc.). Wipro Netpower Series Server and IBM Sever Intel Xeon Processor are there to cater all the labs. On multiple platform (Windows 2000, Unix, Linux). Dedicated network equipments and peripherals include high speed laser printers, scanners, etc.

All Schools and Hostels are connected to internet (24x7) through a high speed 2 Mbps Reliance Radio Link. The School has collaboration with Microsoft, Redhat, IBM, Infosys and some other companies for providing support to the students and faculty members in the form of software, webinars, seminars, training, online-hold and competition.

Career fields for computer science students are numerous and expanding. The fields open for computer science professional are software development, database administration and network management. Courses are based on projects that students work on in teams. Field of computing is applicable to fields as diverse as art, music, business and any of the sciences.
