The School offers B.Ed., M.Ed., M. Phil. and Ph.D. programmes. Nursery Teacher's Training (NTT) and Students Teaching Course (STC) are also being offered under the supervision of the School of Education. The education faculty engages in the professional development of educators at both undergraduate and graduate level. Our purpose is to prepare educators who are competent, caring, and qualified; who endeavor to practice effective pedagogy.

The University has signed a MOU with the Institute of Pre-service Teacher' Training and Professional Teaching Practice Germany), to facilitate sharing of ideas and practices by the faculty and students of Education of the two institutions. Our students and teachers have visited Germany in June-July 2008, and the German counterparts have visited our University in 2007, 2008 and 2009. The School of Education is planning to enter into more MOUs with other institutions in near future.

 

Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) (NCTE Recognition)
B.Ed. is a professional course having three major components: (a) technical orientation, (b) School experience, and (c) practical work.

Master of Education (M.Ed.) (NCTE Recognition)
The M.Ed. programme is designed to shape promising teacher educators with advanced teaching skills, research insights, and competence in delivery of contents. Besides the foundation and optional papers, the M.Ed. programme has also provision for dissertation.

M. Phil. Programme
The 21st century is highly technology savvy. Technological focus entails a change in study and research in education. New theoretical orientations, pedagogies, methods of study and research and application of knowledge to new areas of social life are expected to be a hallmark in the coming decades.
Such a new system of education calls for a critical examination of the existing paradigms of teaching and research. The need is to create a new knowledge society.

Quality Concerns
A student is required to submit a thesis in the prescribed format. The thesis is required to be a piece of original research work having discoveries of new facts and ideas, formulation of theories or interpretations of the existing theories, development of innovative instructional processes, models and systems.

Dr. Kamla Vashistha the veteran teacher educator, is the founder Principal/ Director of Seedling Institute of Teachers training and School of Education. She has envisioned School of Education as a comprehensive and integrated professional training center in a way that today it has emerged as a premier center of all level teacher education programmes.

Prof. Vashistha is working for the last 33 years in the area of Teacher Education. She has worked in University of Rajasthan, Banasthali University a premier teacher institute of the state of Rajasthan in different capacities as lecturer, Assistant Director, Professor, and Principal UG and PG level. She has organized and participated in several National & International Seminars, Conferences and Workshops. She is known for introducing innovative educational practices in the field of Education. She has been honorary advisor & member of State Government, Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education, Academic Council, University of Rajasthan, University of Bikaner, Jain Vishwa Bharti University, NCERT & NCTE in different capacities. She is Honorary President, Council of Teacher Education (Rajasthan Chapter). She has also been associated with National & International bodies working in the area of academics. She has authored more than six books forty articles. She has successfully completed a number of Research Projects and guided more than eight Ph.D. Research Scholars. She has specialized in Value Education and Evaluation. Presently she is working as Professor / Director School of Education.

Dr. Kamla Vashistha

Prof. T.K.S. Laxmi, an eminent educationist is presently serving as Professor in School of Education, Jaipur National University. She worked in M.S. University, Baroda, in various capacities, as Reader and officiating Head in Dept. of Educational Administration and also as Head and Dean in faculty of several Research Projects under sponsorship of M.S. University, UGC, MHRD, UNICEF, Banasthali and NCTE. She has successfully completed a learner centric Programme of Teacher education at Banasthali, Which is recognized as B.Ed.(enriched). She has organized and presented several papers in seminar, workshops and conferences at National and International level. Currently Professor Laxmi is working as Professor of Education and looking after the quality enrichment programme research in the area of teacher education.
