Recognizing the vast human resource potential of our country, Jaipur National University focuses on development of human resource accompanied with technical competence. The School of Hotel Management fulfils this aim by producing confident and committed professionals for the tourism and hotel industry. The significance of teaching hotel management is enormous at Jaipur, in view of beinga prominent tourist centre of the country, which is also on the golden triangle of the world tourism map.
Affiliated to the Federation of Hotel and Restaurant Association of North India and Hotel and Restaurant Associationof Rajasthan, the School of Hotel Management and Catering Technology is equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories for food production, food and beverage service, front office and house-keeping, and it is supervised by eminent experts in the field of hospitality. The faculty and staff of the School make sincere efforts to ensure that the students receive the best training, knowledge and attitudinal inputs and they are kept abreast of the latest developments in the industry and public sector. The School trains its students in every aspect of Hotel Management by interfacing them directly with the industry. The students of the School are responsible for providing hospitality at the University's Guest House. They also participate in various events organized by hotels and restaurants in the city of Jaipur. Our students have participated in Ad Asia 2003, Razzmatazz, Techno Colloquium, Techno Razz, Bar Flaring Seminars and Workshops, Chef Competitions, etc.

The School has also a Five-Year Dual Degree programme granting the BHMCT and MBA degree in five years. The fifth year would comprise of Management papers only.
The program prepares students for careers in hotel, restaurant and Tourism Industries. The Disciplinary field prepares students with expertise in management, marketing, and operations in the expanding industry that provides food, accommodations, and services to people away from home.
Professor D.K. Mathur is a Postgraduate in Tourism Management having specialization in Hotel Management, Technology and Applied Nutrition from IHM, Mumbai. Before joining the Jaipur National University, Prof. Mathur was Head of the Department (Food & Beverage) at the Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology, Jaipur, under the Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India. He has vast experience in the field of Hospitality and Tourism. Prof. Mathur was awarded Fellowship by the UNDP, Ministry of Tourism, GOI. He visited United Kingdom in 1991 for an advanced study programme in Food & Beverage Service and Management. He has organized various training programmes, workshops, and food festivals.
