Guest Lecture on Bioinformatics and its Role in Drug Designing

Sep 17, 2018

A guest lecture was organized on “Bioinformatics and its Role in Drug Designing” for students of B.Tech Biotechnology, B.Sc. Bioinformatics and B.Sc. Biochemistry on 17 th Sep., 2018 by School of Engineering and Technology. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Subhash Agarwal, Scientist E, National Institute of Cancer Prevention and Research (NICPR), Noida. The main focus of the lecture was to make students aware how to use different bioinformatics tools in drug designing. Dr. Agarwal in his lecture covered different aspects of drug designing including docking, structure-based drug design, ligand-based drug design, de-novo design and homology modeling. He also discussed case studies related to drug designing and different bioinformatics tools used. During entire session, Dr. Agarwal kept interacting with the students.
