School of Agricultural Sciences being a constituent college of Jaipur National University has started 4- year B.Sc.(Ag.) Hons. degree course. School of Agricultural Sciences is well equipped with smart classes, modern laboratories, library, adequate agricultural farm and it provides excellent opportunity to the students with latest technologies, exposure visits, field trials for various crops and all desired laboratory practical including soil health card. The course involves the study of various disciplines of agriculture sciences that include Agronomy, Horticulture, Soil Science, Plant Breeding, Genetics, Seed Technology, Crop Physiology, Plant Biochemistry, Plant Biotechnology, Entomology, Plant Pathology, Integrated Pest Management, Water Management, Engineering, Agri-business, Marketing and others. Modern scientific equipment like STFR, Flame Photometer, Spectrophotometer and all required equipments for Tissue culture including the culture of microbes and insect pests are available in the School of Agricultural Sciences. The syllabus is based on V Deans Committee of ICAR which is designed to provide an overall knowledge of agriculture and all its related disciplines. The Course is duly approved from all Statutory bodies including the State Government of Rajasthan.
Agriculture Graduate has tremendous scope in Government (Public) and private sector. B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture has wide scope and is job orientated. Agricultural Scientist Recruitment Board (ASRB) is conducting examination every year for recruitment of Scientist in different subjects. Senior Research Fellowship (SRF) Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) are also provided to Agriculture Graduate to continue higher education. Institute of Banking Personal Selection (IBPS), Ministry of Finance, Government of India is conducting examination for recruitment of Agriculture Finance Officer(AFO) to be posted in different Nationalized Banks every year.

Higher Education and Human Resource Conclave

Employability of youth is a major challenge in India at present. According to United Nations labour report, it is predicted that unemployment will be an issue in coming years. At the same time some reports also say that more than 60% out of eight lakh engineers graduating from technical education institutes stay unemployed every year. This is a big challenge. But as it is said, every challenge can be seen as an opportunity too. And this challenge of unemployment can be seen as opportunity and help a country like India to become the Innovation, Entrepreneurial Hub of the World.
The State of Rajasthan, under the leadership of Smt Vasundhara Raje, Hon'ble Chief Minister, is leaving no stone unturned to bring paradigm shift to the higher education scenario by giving dedicated focus on nurturing innovations, entrepreneurship to make youth employable and generate employment. At the same time role of Industry becomes all the more important to collaborate with governments to help in addressing the issues related to unemployment. In this context, the 'Department of Higher & Technical Education, Government of Rajasthan', along with Elets Technomedia Pvt Ltd, Asia & Middle East's premier media & technology research organization, is organizing 'Higher Education & Human Resource Conclave' in Jaipur, Rajasthan in December 2017.

National Conference on Smart Agriculture and Food Security - Innovations in Agriculture has been organized by Jaipur National University and All India Agricultural Students Association (AIASA) Rajasthan with the support of NABARD, Directorate Agriculture, Government of Rajasthan and Ministry of Agriculture & FW (Government of India) on 18-20th January, 2019 at Jaipur National University-Jaipur . The Inaugural Session was held on 18.1.2019. It was presided over by Dr.Sandeep Bakshi, Hon'ble Chancellor and Chief Guest of the Function was Dr.Raja Ram Tripathi, Chairman, Central Herbal Agro Marketing Federation of India. A Souvenir and Abstract was released on the occasion of Inaugural Session. More than 300 participants including experts from various Agricultural Universities, Veterinary Science Universities, Forestry Institutes, ICAR Institutes, Central and State Department of Agriculture, NABARD, Innovative farmers and agriculture students throughout India participated in the Conference. AIASA is a professional organization of agricultural and allied students and faculties, agriculture professionals and working on empowerment of youth in agriculture. Every year it presents national awards to individuals for empowerment of youth in agriculture. 31 national awards presented during the Inaugural Session of the Conference in various categories. Hon'ble Vice Chancellor Dr. H.N.Verma was presented national award by All India Agricultural Students Association for his outstanding contribution towards quality education and skill development. Two days deliberations on six major themes were conducted at Jaipur National University on 18.1.2019 and 19.1.2019 and third day exposure visit of farm youth and experts was conducted at Organic Farm at Jharana village, Fagi, Jaipur. The major themes of the Conference are :
Two days deliberations and recommendations on above important themes were discussed to resolve the issues faced by farming community. It was deliberated during the day long discussions that adoption of innovative technologies including smart agriculture practices, conservation agriculture, protective cultivation, promotion of organic farming, production and distribution of quality planting materials, capacity building and skill development of farm youth, diversification of agriculture, opening of marketing outlets; "Kisan Kiosks and Hats" in cities, strengthening of customize service & inputs delivery centers, agri. clinics will be helpful for improvement of agriculture and enhancing income of the farmer.
