Business and Management are today buzz words in every walk of life. The way one transacts business and manages it, impacts harmony in a family/group and pays dividends to organizations. Management is a holistic science, craft and wisdom.

Creation of infrastructure or deployment of manpower alone is not enough; skillful utilization of resources and proper allocation of work are equally important considerations in today’s economy.

The aim of the various management programs in the SBM is to develop a new generation of business leaders capable of managing the complex challenges faced by business houses and society at large in the 21st century.

Management is a holistic science, craft and wisdom. The aim of the various Management programs in the SBM, namely Ph.D., MBA (Dual Specialization), MBA, MBA in Hospital & Healthcare Management, MBA Integrated Dual Degree programmes in Engineering, Pharmacy, Life Sciences and Hotel Management, BBA and B.Com, B.Com (Hons) is to develop a new generation of business leaders capable of managing the complex challenges faced by business houses and society at large in the 21st century. The Students at SBM are exposed to various disciplines to acquire knowledge of ethics, social responsibility, law and public policy along with skill development in communication and critical thinking.
The teaching pedagogy is based on simulation and smart class concepts, case study analysis, seminars, workshops, event management and industrial tours.
The projects, group assignments and presentations enable students in acquiring the skills of handling business situations and understanding the principles of team work.

ALUMNI MEET

12th January, 2019

To have an interaction with old students an Alumni Meet was organized by School of Business and Management on 12th January, 2019.

The Alumni meet is an event for old relationships to be cherished, celebrated and refreshed and new ones to be formed. It is a time for reflecting, remembering their golden days and memories of the Alumni and looking forward with a sense of purpose and anticipation. Most of the Alumni visiting their Alma mater were thrilled to be back in the campus again. On the occasion of Alumni Meet, Alumni members interacted with MBA students and shared their experiences. In this interaction they gave message to juniors that constant hard work and effort will reap the benefits in future but, at the same time participate in co-curricular activities and enjoy college life.

The event was glittered by cultural performances done by the students along with the participation of Alumni. Mementos were given to all the Alumni. The following Alumni have been appointed Office Bearer of Alumni Association for the year 2019-2020.

The meet was concluded by vote of thanks given by Prof. Rajesh Mehrotra, Director, SBM. In his speech he appealed alumni to be united and to be connected with institute. Many of the current students were also seen interacting with their pass out seniors and learning from their experiences, In all, the ambience was electrifying with people seen chatting and enjoying in groups. The Alumni showed their willingness to help and partner in various ways. The Meet ended with a sweet hope of meeting again with Alumni next year.

INTERACTIVE SESSION WITH DELEGATES FROM FRENCH UNIVERSITIES

16th January, 2019

An interactive session by Rennes School of Business and IESEG Paris/Lille (French Universities) was organized by School of Business and Management on 16th January, 2019. Prof. Maud Le Bars from Rennes School of Business, Mr. Nitin Joseph from IESEG Paris, Mr. Roman Camus and Ms. Sanjana Sarkar, Manager, Campus France French Embassy has come to interact with the students.They highlighted that apart from UK, USA France is a prime location for innovation, technology, and development. It is the fifth largest economy in the world. There are many educational institutions offering excellent programs for an MBA France degree. It is a culturally and intellectually stimulating environment to pursue further education among many international students and professionals.

The highlight of this session is medium of instruction for this course is English and not French which is comfortable for the students to follow. Students interacted with guests regarding various short term courses, fees, their stay, climate and where about of the Universities.

The session ended with Vote of Thanks by Prof. Rajesh Mehrotra, Director, School of Business and Management.
