School of Languages, Literature & Society
The School of Languages, Literature and Society was set up in 2008. The programmes of the school are designed to provide knowledge and competence in the fields of literature, language, culture and society for a wide range of professions in such sectors as teaching, civil services, media or public relations. The main objective of the School is to offer training in theories and methods of literary/critical thinking as well as their application in practical contexts. By focusing on specific genres and texts, we encourage students to engage in critical practices that make them aware of the effects of social, political, cultural, historical and ideological formulations. The School also prepares and trains the students to avail the opportunities in the spheres that need language competence. The teaching is supplemented with seminar presentations, projects and guest lectures by subject experts/specialists. The students are provided opportunities to attend literary fests / cultural events to enhance their literary / artistic sensibilities and enhance their skills in literary appreciation.

2. Prof. Jaibir Hooda, Prof. of English, M.D. University, Rohtak delivered a lecture on The Genius of Regional Literatures.
3. Prof. N.K.Jain Dean Humanities, IIS University, Jaipur delivered a lecture on Structuralist and Post-Structuralist Theories.
4. Prof. Ranjana Harish Retd. Prof. and Head, Gujarat University, Ahmedabad delivered a lecture on Feminism- Its Changing Contours.
5. Prof. Ashish Chandra, (MBA, Ph.D.) Professor, University of Houston, Texas, United States of America Higher Education in the United States.
6. Dr.Virendra Kumar Mishra, Asstt. Professor of English, Banasthali University, Banasthali delivered a lecture on Deconstruction Theory.
7. Ruchi Sharma, Asstt. Professor of English, St. Xaviers College, Rajasthan, delivered a lecture on Feminism.
8. Prof. Jagdish Batra, Founder, Department of English, O.P Jindal University delivered a lecture on Indian English Novels.
9. Dr. Lalit Sharma Associate Professor, Banasthali University, Rajasthan delivered a lecture on Post - Colonialism, 2018.
(i) The Birth Anniversary of the World Renowned British Playwright William Shakespeare was celebrated on 21nd April, 2017. The students enacted plays, reeled memorable photos & video clips, documentaries as well in presence of the whole department.
(ii) 'The Partition Day' was commemorated on 17th August 2018 with the Paper Presentations, Video Clippings and a SKIT by the students.
(iii) Students participated in "Technoraaz" and were the winners of the Fashion Show.
(iv) Students participated in "SPICMACAY" and were involved in various presentations.
(v) Students participated in various drama competitions organized by various universities and colleges in Jaipur.
