The university has established an International Students Cell (ISC) to cater to the needs of foreign students. It is headed by a Coordinator, who is in constant contact with the International Institutions /organizations such as the Embassies/Consulates of the foreign countries for providing required information for the benefit of the prospective foreign students. It provides a single window system to facilitate the international students with all kinds of services that they require. ISC is a host to students from several foreign countries like Nepal, Bhutan, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, America, USA, Afghanistan, Canada, Congo, Kenya, Morocco, Nigeria, Yemen, Romania, Egypt, Libya, Tanzania, Syria, Korea, Djibouti, Liberia etc., studying in various facilities.

Admission and guidance:

International studentscell facilitates admissions into UG/PG/Ph.D and professional programmes of the university.

International students cell has taken initiatives for signing up of MoUs for academic collaboration and exchange of faculty and students with distinguished Universities/Institutions like:

The international students cell takes initiatives to arrange trainingof Communicative English, that prepare students for further studies and employment.

International admissions

1. International Students:

Under these Guidelines, ‘International Students’ shall include the following:

i. Foreign students: Students holding passports issued by foreign countries including people of Indian origin who have acquired the nationality of foreign countries are included as foreign students.

ii. Non-Resident Indians (NRI): Only those Non Resident Indian students who have studied and passed the qualifying examinations from schools or colleges in foreign countries will be included as international students. This will include the students studying in the schools or colleges situated in foreign countries even if affiliated to the Boards of Secondary Education or Universities located in India, but will not include students studying in those schools or colleges (situated in India) and affiliated to the Boards of Secondary Education or Universities of the foreign countries. Students passing the qualifying examinations from Boards or Universities located in foreign countries as external students and dependants of NRI studying in India will not be included as international students.

Entry level status of International Students on entry to country will be maintained.

2. Documents required for admission of International Students:

i. Visa: All the international students will require a student visa endorsed to this University for joining full time courses. No other endorsement is acceptable. Students wishing to join a research programme will require a research visa endorsed to this University. The visa should be valid for the prescribed duration of the course.

A visa is not required for NRI students. Students who are doing full time courses, in some other institutions, do not require a separate visa for joining part time courses provided that their current visa is valid for the entire duration of the course.

ii. No Objection Certificate: Students no longer require a No Objection Certificate, for joining professional courses. (This has been withdrawn by the Government of India vide letter No. F.No.33-17/2002-UA dated 20th August 2004.)

iii. Security clearance: All international students wishing to undertake any research work or join a Ph.D. or M. Phil. programmes will have to obtain prior security clearance from the Ministry of Home Affairs and the approval of Department of Secondary & Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development Government of India and this must be on the research visa endorsed to this University.

International admissions
  • Eligibility for admission into undergraduate courses: The candidate must have qualified in 10 + 2 or its equivalent examination recognized by Association of Indian Universities.
  • Eligibility for admission into postgraduate courses: International students, who have obtained their Bachelors Degree at home in theconcerned or allied subject(s) or its equivalent recognized by Association of Indian Universities are eligible for admission into the Postgraduate courses.
  • Eligibility for admission into Ph.D.Programmes: Pass in Masters Degree in the concerned subject or its equivalent recognized by Association of Indian Universities.

Only those students who have qualified from foreign Universities or Boards of Higher Education, recognized as equivalent by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) are eligible for admission. When required, a reference will be made to AIU to check the equivalence.

International admissions
  • After receiving the online application and fulfilling formalities by the due date as required, the university may issue “Offer Letter (OL)” for provisional Admission and the candidate will be informed through email.
  • The Candidate shall transfer the fee to the university bank account as mentioned in the Offer Letter and upload payment transaction proof within the stipulated time along with requisite documents.

The applicant has to ensure that he/she has read and understood all the guidelines, policies and instructions as mentioned in the Offer Letter before accepting the terms of Acceptance of Offer Letter & transferring the fee.

After receiving the "Acceptance of Offer Letter" and verifying the fulfillment of all the conditions as mentioned in the Offer Letter and confirmation of the payment transfer details updated by the applicant in the online application portal before the last date of admission, the university will issue the Acceptance Letter through an email.

Stepwise procedure for admission of International students:

Step 1: International students must fill up the provisional admission application form for and submit it, along with the copies of certificates and the registration fees to the Coordinator, International students Cell. This should be done well in time so that the student is able to obtain the visa before the due date of admission.

Enclosures to Applications:

The enclosures to the application must comprise:

  • Two certified copies of the marks sheet of the qualifying examinations (certified translated version in English)
  • Two certified copies of the Degree Certificate of the qualifying examination (Certified translated version in English)
  • A copy of the syllabus/curriculum of their UG / PG Degree (Certified translated version in English)
  • Two copies of the passport of the student.

Step 2: After scrutiny of the application for eligibility, the University will issue a provisional admission letter and the student must obtain a "student visa" endorsed to Jaipur National University from Indian Embassy /Consulate. Admissions cannot be confirmed without a valid visa.

No objection Certificate: Students no longer require a No objection Certificate, for joining professional courses. (This has been withdrawn by the Government ofIndia vide letter No. F.No. 33-17/2002 - U. 4 dated 20th August 2004).

Security Clearance: However, all International students wishing to undertake any research work or join a Ph.D. will have to obtain prior security clearance from the Ministry of Home Affairs and the approval of Department of Secondary & Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development Government of India and this must be on the research visa endorsed to this University.

Step 3: After obtaining the Visa endorsed to Jaipur National University, the student must apply for final admission, to the Coordinator, International Students Cell.

Step 4: The admission of the International students will be finalized and the allotment of a college is made, when the candidate reports in person to the Coordinator, International Students Cell and after verification of all the certificates, appropriate visa and the payment of tuition fee in full. If the candidate fails to comply with any of these the admission will be cancelled. International students must bring all the original certificates of qualifying examinations while reporting for final admission. The original certificates will be returned to the students immediately after making an endorsement to this effect.

Step 5: All the International Students must undergo the medical examination and get the medical fitness certificate.

Step 6: International students, whose qualifying examination is not in the English medium, must appear for the proficiency test in English as decided by the University.

Step 7: Within a week of arrival in India, register their names with the police in the Foreigner Regional Registration Office (FRRO) of the local Police Station.

Step 8: International students who are studying for full-time courses in any other institution can be given admission into part-time/Correspondence courses only if they hold a valid visa for the duration of the part-time course. A separate visa is not required. They will have to pay the fees as applicable. Such students must approach the Director, International Students Cell for getting admission into part-time/Correspondence courses, if they meet the prescribed eligibility qualifications.
