As students of the fashion department, we had the privilege of visiting the Anokhi Museum in Jaipur, where we immersed ourselves in the rich tradition of block printing. Exploring the museum, we gained invaluable insights into the intricate methods and tools used in this age-old craft. We learned about the various types of blocks, including those made from wood and metal, and the meticulous process involved in their creation.

The museum provided a comprehensive overview of different block printing techniques, from Bagru and Sanganer to Ajrak, each with its unique motifs and characteristics. Engaging in hands-on activities, we had the opportunity to witness the block printing process firsthand, from preparing colors to printing on fabric. Moreover, we discovered the historical significance of block printing in cultures and method, appreciating its enduring appeal and cultural relevance. Overall, our visit to the Anokhi Museum was not only educational but also deeply inspiring, sparking a newfound appreciation for the artistry and craftsmanship of block printing in fashion design.
