School of Education celebrated ‘World Literacy Day’ on 8 September 2023. The panelists were from across different Schools.
Dr. E.V.D. Sastri, panelist highlighted the importance of literacy & education for the growth of the nation & society. He quoted that literacy is not a luxury but a fundamental right. UNESCO data reveals that 76 crore young people & adults lacked globally basic literacy skills in 2020. He appealed to students to make literacy reality not a goal.
Prof. Rishikesh Mishra explained the theme of the World Literacy Day-2023 ‘Promoting literacy for a world in transition: Building the foundation for sustainable and Peaceful societies’. The program succeeded in creating an awareness of literacy for Sustainable Developmental Goal, which aims to achieve equitable quality education.
