An Awareness Seminar for non- teaching staff was organized by School of Life and Basic Sciences collaboration with School of Allied Health Sciences on 06 February, 2024 from 10 AM to 12 AM. The primary objective of the seminar was to provide comprehensive eye examinations to the non-teaching staff identifying any existing eye conditions, and providing necessary consultation and guidance for further treatment if required. Additionally, the seminar aimed to raise awareness among the Staff about the importance of regular eye checkups and maintaining good eye health and highlighting the importance early detection of cataract, pterygium and dry eye.A fundus examination was conducted to examine the back of the eye, including the retina, optic nerve, and blood vessels. This helped in detecting conditions such as diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and hypertensive retinopathy. After the examinations, each staff received personalized consultation and counseling based on their test results. Staff with existing eye conditions were provided with guidance on further treatment and management. The eye awareness seminar for non-teaching staff served as a proactive initiative to address the healthcare needs of an often overlooked segment of the educational workforce. By focusing on preventive care and early detection, the seminar underscored the importance of prioritizing eye health and wellness among non-teaching staff.
