Report on the “Shakespeare’s Declamation Contest”

Shakespeare's Declamation

The School of Languages, Literature, and Society at Jaipur National University organized the annual Shakespeare's Declamation Contest on 20th February, 2023, to honour and celebrate Shakespeare and his legacy. The students declaimed memorable dialogues from Shakespeare's plays while dressing up in the characters' appropriate costumes. Prof. Rana Zaidi presided over the ceremony and welcomed distinguished guests Hon’ble Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof. H.N. Verma who appreciated the event and awarded cash prizes to the winners and the Chief Guest, Ms. Kashish Bhatia, a renowned theatre artist who graced the occasion with her enriching presence. Tulsi from MA II, won the first prize for performing Phebe’s monologue on “think not I love him” from As You Like It and Prachi from BA II, was the first runner up for her performance as Ariel from The Tempest. Huma Parveen and Mausam were facilitated with third runner up and consolation prize, respectively.
