Profile of the Speaker: Dr. Rahul Singhal, did his Ph.D.(Materials Science) from Jawahar Lal Nehru University New Delhi. Prior to this, he obtained M.Sc. (Physics) from I.I.T. Roorkee. He is working as an assistant professor in the Department of Physics, MNIT Jaipur. His research areas include metal-carbon nanocomposite thin films, polymer-fullerene bulk heterojunction organic solar cells, ion irradiation studies of SMA thin films, etc. He has published more than 175 research articles in various renowned National and International Journals. Eight students have completed their Ph.D. thesis under his supervision and many more are still working.
Objectives of the Workshop: To aware and guide the students about the scope of M.Sc. Physics and B.Sc. in various areas of science and technology and tell them about research opportunity and experimental facilities at MNIT Jaipur.
About the Workshop:
A Career Counseling Workshop was held for students of M.Sc. (Physics) and B.Sc. The workshop gave an insight about how the students may prepare for various competitive exams like NET, GATE, JEST, SLET etc. They are provided about the eligibility of Ph.D Program in various central university and IIT’s and NIT’s. Dr. Singhal provided the knowledge of scientific post in various research organizations viz. NPL, PRL, DRDO, BARC, ISRO, CEERI etc. He encouraged the students to adopt research field after their M.Sc.. He also elaborate that how a student can avail the research facilities, particularly experimental facilities at MNIT Jaipur.
Outcomes of the workshop:-
After the completion of these sessions, the students must be able to:
- Get complete knowledge about various competitive exams for higher studies after postgraduate. So that they can boost their career path with more clarity.
- Know the eligibility and the preparation to get the admission in Ph.D. in I.I.T., N.I.T.and other prestigious institutes.
- Get knowledge how to avail experimental facilities at well equipped institutes like MNIT Jaipur.
