School of Allied Health Sciences, Jaipur National University, Jaipur organized a Career Guidance Webinar on recent career prospects in Medical Laboratory Technology on 12th July 2023 via at SIILAS Campus. The theme of the program was Recent Career Prospects in Medical Laboratory Technology delivered by Guest Speaker- Prof. Bushra Fiza, Director, Central Lab, MGUMST, Jaipur. Proposal for the activity consent was put up by the co-ordinator of the program, to the director, SIILAS Campus, Prof. Rajesh Mehrotra and approval of the program was done by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. R.L. Raina. Invitation was sent to the speaker prehand via post and e-mail for the same was posted. A well informative letter was drafted along with details of the program. Schedule of the program and faculty in charges at time of session was prepared and was posted to all the departments for smooth conduction of the event. Moderator, Ms. Sanjana Bhat stood up for anchoring at the event to welcome the guest and Hon’ble VC sir for the day. The session was opened with an inaugural address by Hon’ble VC Prof. R.L. Raina to the participants. Later Prof. Bushra Fiza, our speaker also threw light on associations and emerging career trends as a part of her talk for future medical laboratory technologists and other interested students. Feedback from her showed response for more such events and she was satisfied with the information provided to her as a part of her profession to deliver the talk. More time management for interaction with students was suggested by her which shall be seen in next event. Major Points Discussed in the session were to explore the opportunities available in the field of MLT, importance of higher studies, SOPs & protocols in lab, etc. Her main aim was to motivate students to have an interest as professional lab technologists, to implement discipline in daily life and to sustain an ethical lifestyle at workplace. 80 students participated in the event, were motivated by the talk and demanded more lively sessions like this in future. Few shortcomings of the program were related to technical glitch during the talk. The head of the school, Dr Shilpi Sharma was appreciated by Guest speaker Prof. Bushra Fiza and Prof. Rajesh Mehrotra, Director, SIILAS, convenor of the program for the efforts to conduct a successful event.
