M.Sc.(Ag) Genetics & Plant Breeding is two year post-graduate programme that can be pursued after completion of graduation in agriculture. The programme focuses on the improvement of crop varities. The art and science of modifying plant features to create desirable qualities and also increase in the quality of nutrition in human and animal products. The aspirants will be provided with the basic knowledge of improving varieties and genetic stocks, changing the genetic make-up of plants and developing novel breeding strategies to increase Agricultural produce.

Learning Perspective:

The students will develop sound knowledge in the agriculture and allied sciences required to improve and establish the high yielding verities and multiplication of seeds to fulfill the farmers requirement. Post Graduation in Agriculture with specialization in M.Sc.(Ag) Genetics & Plant Breeding curriculum involves an intensive theoretical and practical work for three semesters followed by research work in the IV semester.
