Biotechnology is a fast-growing interdisciplinary field of study and knowledge, having applications in the industries related to chemical, pharmaceutical, and textile. It affects our everyday life and has become even more important during the present century called as the 'Century of Biotechnology'. The Department of Biotechnology, at Jaipur National University, was established in 2007 since the last 14 years, B Tech Biotechnology programme under the School of Engineering and Technology has excelled in the field of Teaching and Research; imparting quality education to future Biotech Professionals. A team of highly qualified and dedicated faculty members, holding doctorate degrees in interdisciplinary and core branches is continuously nurturing the academics of learners.

Learning Perspective

The B Tech Biotechnology programme offered by one of the best biotechnology colleges in Jaipur is designed to meet the ever-changing scenario in the field of Biotechnology. An emphasis is given to experiential learning to the students in prominent domains like Microbiology, Molecular and Recombinant DNA Technology, Bioprocess Engineering, and Bioinformatics. Organization of visits to research institutes, seminars, and workshops helps the students to develop research temperament, orientation skills, and observation of Biotechnological processes which are useful in Industries. An Internship of six months & dissertation (Project Work) in the last semester is mandatory at one of the best biotechnology colleges in Jaipur which provides an opportunity for the students to work in emerging fields of Biotechnology and to get placed in core Biotech Industries.
